Add some glam to your makeup routine with this DIY sparkling makeup brush holder. This craft is an easy way to add a pop of color to any collection.
Step 1:
Apply painter’s tape or masking tape to the exterior of the glass/jar. Make an upside down “V” shape with the tape.
Step 2:
Choose three acrylic craft paint colors. For this design orange, red and brown were used. Mix a small amount of red into orange to make a darker orange. Mix orange, red, and brown together to make an auburn color.
Apply paint to the triangle shaped section located below the tape. Start with dabbing orange paint to the peak of the triangle, applying the orange a little over halfway down the glass.
Tip: Dab the brush against the glass by holding the end of the paint brush, tapping like you would a drumstick.
Apply the dark orange color to the glass, creating a gradient by letting the paints mix. Bring the dark orange down to the bottom of the glass.
One third of the way up from the bottom of the glass, apply/dab the auburn color, letting it mix with the orange. Tip: If needed, go back into blended areas with extra paint to create a smooth blend of colors.
Step 3:
While paint is still wet, sprinkle gold glitter to the peak of the triangle section. Let some of the glitter trickle down. Let dry.
Step 4:
Use a paint brush to evenly apply tacky glue to upper portion of glass.
Pour gold glitter across the wet tacky glue. Let dry. Tip: Pour above a sheet of paper to easily collect and reuse any glitter that falls.
Step 5:
Spray the dried glass with clear acrylic sealer in a well-ventilated area. For this design a gloss finish was used. Let dry.
Step 6:
Remove tape slowly to avoid unclean edges
